WHY BABAO

Swimwear should feel like summer, not just look like it.

Babao is inspired by the moments around the swim as much as the swim itself. Getting ready with friends. Salt still on your skin at lunch. Throwing something over a bikini and staying out until evening.

The idea is simple: create pieces that belong to the whole day.

The idea

After years of collecting swimwear and spending summers between the South of France and the Mediterranean islands, Alma begins sketching the first Babao pieces.
2025
The first drop

Babao launches with a small collection built around colour, texture and pieces designed to move beyond the beach.

A bigger summer

New colour stories, more silhouettes and a growing Babao world shaped around the way summer is actually lived.

FROM THE FOUNDER

I wanted swimwear that felt like the whole day, not just the swim.

Babao started with a simple frustration. I could always find a bikini for the beach, but rarely one I wanted to keep wearing once I left it. I wanted colour, texture and pieces that felt playful without feeling disposable.

Babao became my version of summer: a little spontaneous, a little nostalgic, and never too polished. Pieces for swimming, wandering, long lunches and staying out later than planned.
